Baby DDU has arrived

Author: Mr and Mrs DDU.

For 3 and a half years we have been waiting for our baby to arrive. Less than 10 months ago we successfully created an embryo.

It’s amazing how long 9 months can seem when you’re in it and how quickly it’s gone looking back at it.

Not long ago we went through the once (or few times) in a lifetime experience of childbirth. Other than having an unplanned Caesarean everything went as good as we could have hoped. Mrs DDU and Baby DDU are both healthy and happy. And both are nearly fully recovered.

We are planners and we love planning for things. It’s amazing how much stuff we have needed to get even after we thought we had prepared, haha.

We are feeling very happy being parents, but pretty tired at the moment! We hope you guys understand if we fall behind on some blogging, but don’t worry – we aren’t going anywhere.

Final thoughts

She is precious, adorable, cute. We love her so much. She was worth all of the waiting and we are so glad that we never gave up hope. We always had that tiny spark of strength to keep going to reach our goal and dream of becoming parents. Every moment of sadness, struggle and pain was worth it for our little family. We would do it all again to be where we are, to be the people that it has made us.

Having a baby really does change your perspective on certain things. When we first started our financial journey we were doing it for more time for us. Now we want FIRE so that we can spend more of our life with her. We will do our best to make it happen (happily) as soon as possible.

Onwards and upwards!

Thanks for reading this article about our journey to have a child Down Under.

Congratulations guys! I was only thinking a few days ago that you guys had been quiet recently… I honestly didn’t put two and two together! I am so pleased you remained hopeful and were able to fulfil your dream! She is lucky to have parents who wanted her so much.

When the dust settles (and you catch up on some sleep), we look forward to hearing about how becoming parents will effect your FIRE plans!

    All the best xx

Huge congratulations to you both!! Try and enjoy these early weeks as much as possible when they are teeny tiny because these early weeks are also pretty tough. They grow so fast! Speaking from recent experience 😛 Enjoy! They are so precious.

If you think those 9 months passed quickly looking back wait till the grandkids arrive! And by the way, I hope you have plenty of dividends coming your way by then because grandchildren are expensive.
If you find a way to invest for your child and keep it off the radar please let me know.

I am very late to the party, but congratulations! I hope things are all going well for the three of you. It’s time to look at your priorities and redetermine what’s important. I don’t think anyone will be surprised if blogging takes a back seat for a while!
